Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists killed in J&K’s Shopian

Srinagar: A day after Indian fighter jets struck the major training camp of terrorists across LoC, the security forces today killed two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists following an encounter early this morning.

Acting on reliable inputs about the presence of militants in the area, security forces today launched a cordon and search operation in Meemendar area of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the search operation, the militants opened fire on the security forces. In retaliation, the forces killed two JeM operatives.

On Tuesday, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation at 6:30 pm onwards by shelling heavy calibre weapons in 12-15 places along Line of Control. Indian Army also retaliated resulting in severe destruction to Pak’s five posts and a number of casualties to Pakistan Army.

Schools in the border town of Rajouri are closed today amid the tension along the LoC.
