Chennai: It has been 44 years since the South Superstar Rajinikanth stepped into the Indian cinema and his fans are celebrating this day on Twitter.
A hashtag #44YrsofUnmatchableRAJINISM is trending on all social media platforms. Netizens from every spectre of life wished the veteran for his achievement in his career.
The 68-year old actor started his career by acting in supporting roles. Later, he was seen in antagonists roles in films like Pathinaaru Vayathinile and Aadu Puli Aatam.
The Superstar made his film debut at the age of 25 in a Tamil film called Apoorva Raagangal. His first solo-movie was Bairavi, which released in 1978. The title ‘Superstar’ was also given to the actor during the release of the movie. From then on, there was no looking back to the stylish star, who became the numero uno of Tamil cinema.
The film interestingly also starred Kamal Haasan. Rajinikanth’s first Hindi film was Andha Kanoon, which released in 1982.
The superstar has proven adept at any genre the filmmakers have cast him in, and this includes science-fiction as well. His Enthiran, released in 2010, was then the most expensive film in India. Its ‘spiritual successor’ called 2.0, released in 2018.
Rajinikanth is a Padma Vibhushan awardee. He was conferred with the honour in 2016.
