Possibility of repair work at Barabati stadium soon: OCA Secy

Cuttack: The 3rd ODI cricket match between India and West Indies at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will likely be played here as there is the possibility of repair work of the stadium, informed Sanjay Behera, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary today.

As many parts of the stadium suffered severe damage due to the cyclone FANI, we have written to the BCCI mentioning all these issues. The BCCI has also assured to provide funds for repair work at the stadium, Behera said.

The repairings will be taken up after BCCI releases funds. As soon as possible we will start the repairing process and before the match, it will finish as we are hoping so, Behera added.

Notably, the Barabati Stadium of Cuttack will witness international cricket after a span of around two years as an ODI match between India and West Indies is going to be held at the venue on December 22, 2019.

The West Indies team will tour India in the month of December to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is with the host team.
