Pak school penalised as students danced to Indian song

Karachi: In a ludicrous move, the Pakistani authorities reportedly suspended the registration of a school after students danced to an Indian song and waved India’s flag in an event.

Media reports said the incident surfaced after a video of the event went viral on social media.

A show-cause notice was issued to the school’s owner to appear before the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh (DIRPIS).

The report further stated that the registration of the ‘Mama Baby Care Cambridge School’ was suspended for allegedly promoting Indian culture.

As the school’s owner neither responded to the directorate nor appeared before the officials to clear his position which led to the suspension of the registration.

Vice-principal of the school, Fatima, said the school management had arranged an event for the students to make them aware about cultures of different countries.

She alleged that some publications twisted the matter and played up a specific part of the programme to target the school.
