Bhubaneswar: Odisha Livelihoods Mission on Saturday received the Outlook Poshan Award 2019 from Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi.
The award was presented to Odisha Livelihoods Mission during the “Outlook Speak out-Poshan” programme on nutrition, organised by Outlook India, today.
Odisha Livelihoods Mission has been selected for the award in Safe and Nutritious Food Category for making a substantial impact in the field of nutrition.
OLM, an autonomous society, was formed by the Odisha government under Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department in 2006.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said the change leaders must create awareness and provide counselling by visiting every home in villages and hamlets in rural areas.
Naidu also called for a national movement on the lines of Swachh Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyaan and other similar schemes to eliminate the scourge of malnutrition and other nutrition-related problems.
The Editor-in-Chief, Outlook, Ruben Banerjee, the CEO, Outlook, Indranil Roy and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
