Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik turned 74 today. However, Patnaik avoided an extravagant birthday celebration to express solidarity with the people affected by cyclone Fani in some parts of the state.
The Chief Minister’s Office yesterday had issued a statement for the well-wishers not to throng Naveen Niwas to greet the CM.
Among others, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik took to the micro-blogging site to wish Patnaik on his special day.
PM Modi greeted Patnaik and prayed for his long and healthy life: He wrote: “Greetings to Odisha’s CM Shri Naveen Patnaik Ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life.
