Man dies after consuming spurious liquor in Bhadrak village

Bhadrak: Tension ran high at Chardia panchayat under Bangshada police limits in Bhadrak district today after a man reportedly died due to consumption of spurious liquor.

The deceased has been identified as Maheswar Majhi (36) of Chardia village.

As per sources, Maheswar returned home late last night in an inebriated state after consuming country-made liquor at an illegal brewery. While his family members thought that Maheswar was asleep, he was found dead today morning.

Following this, locals blocked the Chardia-Chandbali road demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. Later, Maheswar’s family members lodged a complaint with Bangshada police regarding the same.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case of unnatural death registered in this regard informed Bangshada IIC Ramesh Singh.
