Malkangiri police nabs 40 gamblers in two days
Malkangiri: In a major crackdown on gambling racket, Malkangiri police nabbed 40 persons on charges of gambling in two days (October 24-25). A total of 9 cases were registered.
According to reports, Malkangiri police arrested six gamblers, Kalimela police nabbed three and MV-79 police apprehended six. Similarly, Chitrakonda and Motu police arrested 9 and 16 respectively.
Acting on reliable inputs about the gambling dens, the Malkangiri district police conducted raids at different places in the district and arrested the accused persons red-handed from the spot.
During the raids, a total of Rs. 87, 400 in cash, ten motor cycles, eleven mobile phones, playing cards, towels, polythene mats and candles were seized.
