International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction: Naveen reiterates on saving lives through awareness

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction today, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reiterated on his commitment towards safeguarding every life from disasters.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Patnaik shared a 58-seconds long video giving a glimpse of the preparedness and the restoration work that was carried out during the destructive Cyclone FANI.

Besides, he also emphasised to save the populace of the state from disasters “through awareness, preparedness and by developing resilient infrastructure & services.”

The main aim is to focus on the target of the Sendai Framework. According to the UN, the Sendai framework highlights “Substantially to reduce disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services, among them health and education facilities, including through developing their resilience by 2030.”
