Ranchi: India earned a series sweep against the South African team in the test match by picking up the final two wickets in just the second over of the day on Day 4 of the Ranchi Test.
Theunis de Bruyn was the first to go as he edged it to Wriddhiman Saha behind the stumps. On the next ball, Lungi Ngidi was caught by the bowler.

South Africa were close to suffering the ignominy of being bowled out twice in one day but survived yesterday’s onslaught from the Indian bowlers. Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have been the stars with the ball for India in this Test match.
Debutant Shahbaz Nadeem, who took 2-22 in the first innings, picked up the wickets of Theunis de Bruyn and Lungi Ngidi off consecutive deliveries in is first over of the day to secure the win for India.

Earlier, India posted 497/9d in the first innings and then bowled out Proteas for 162 in the first innings. Kohli enforced the follow-on on the visitors.
India had a 3-0 whitewash as the hosts had won the first Test in Vizag 203 runs and the second Test in Pune by an innings and 137 runs.
This is 11th straight home series win for India. Their last home series defeat in the longest format was against England in 2012-13.
