Chunk of plaster collapses in primary school classroom, two students hurt


Jharsuguda: Two Class-V students suffered head injuries after a chunk of plaster collapsed on them at an upper primary school in Jamagaon panchayat under Lakhanpur block here on Monday.

The incident took place at around 11 AM today when the classes of Class-V was underway.

According to sources, as many as 25 students were inside the classroom when the chunk of plaster fell off from the ceiling injuring two students.

They injured kids, identified as Bulu Tihiria and Raju Gadwal, were immediately rushed to Lakhanpur community health centre for treatment. While Bulu sustained severe head injuries and got four stitches on his head, Raju sustained a minor head injury in the mishap, sources added.

The injured students have been discharged from the CHC sent back to their respective home, sources said and added that additional Education Officer of Lakhanpur also reached the school and investigated the incident.
