Bargarh: Lochana Naik, a 100-year-old woman, on Monday exercised her franchise to vote in the by-poll of Bijepur Assembly constituency in Odisha’s Bargarh district that began at 7 am today.

As per instructions of the Election Commission Of India (ECI), vehicles were deployed to bring elderly and divyang voters from their house to the polling booths.
Though this is the third time that Bijepur is going for polls in the last 20 months, voter fatigue was not noticed and balloters were seen standing patiently in long queues to exercise their rights. Polling started at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm.
The counting of votes will be held on October 24.
