New York: Singer Zayn Malik has taken the internet by storm with his new duet with Zhavia Ward for the latest version of “A Whole New World,” which will be featured in Disney’s upcoming Aladdin remake.
Disney has released a new cover version of the iconic song and though the song does not feature a magical carpet the mesmerising voices of the singers makes the song magical.
The two singers did not share screen space for the music video but their voices complimented each other.
The duet will be featured in the film’s soundtrack as well as the end credits, similar to Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle’s version from the 1992 original. Also included in the soundtrack a new version of “Friend Like Me,” performed by Will Smith (who plays Genie) and DJ Khaled.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film stars Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar.
Meanwhile, singer Armaan Malik will lend his voice to the character of Aladdin in the Hindi version of the Hollywood film Aladdin, and rapper Badshah will create a song and a video for the live-action adaptation of the Disney classic.
The film will open in India on May 24. Aladdin will release in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
