Following this, both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka gained one point each.
Sri Lanka now has 4 points from their 4 matches while Bangladesh has 3 points from 4 games.
Earlier on Monday, a match between South Africa and West Indies was rained off and teams shared a point each. Just 7.3 overs were possible in the match between West Indies and South Africa at Southampton. Similarly, the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was also abandoned on June 7.
The previous highest number of abandoned games in a World Cup was two, in 1992 and 2003.
