Keonjhar: A woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Pokharia locality of ward no. 2 under Champua in Keonjhar district on Monday morning.
As per reports, the incident occurred while Rajeswari had gone to attend nature’s call. In the meantime, the pachyderm attacked the woman. Consequently, she sustained grievous injuries.
On hearing the woman’s scream, villagers rushed to the spot and rescued her to Champua hospital. Later, she was shifted to Keonjhar DHH where she was declared dead.
On being informed, the forest officials reached the spot and initiated an investigation in this regard.
