Dehradun: In a shocking incident, a woman in Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh thrashed a policeman inside the Prem Nagar police station premises on Tuesday evening.
According to the police officials, the woman identified as Jaya Pathak claimed that she is an Additional District Judge (ADJ) and is posted in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh.
A police official who witnessed the incidence said, “She came to the police station in support of her son who studies in a private university in Dehradun and has entered into a brawl with a group of boys on Monday. The matter ended up reaching police after which the parents of the students were called. After reaching the police station, all of a sudden she started assaulting and thrashing the policeman and showed the tantrums that she is a judge.”
Senior Superintendent of Police Nivedita Kukreti said they are trying to verify the fact of the woman’s identity from authorities in the neighbouring state and assured that due process of law would be followed in the entire matter.
The in charge of Prem Nagar police station, Naresh Rathore, who was slapped by the woman while shooting her video, was heard telling the accused woman, “You are claiming to be a judge and this is how you behave. Action would be taken against you.”
Meanwhile, Dehradun police have entered the whole incident in the general diary (GD) and would seek permission from Registrar General of Allahabad High Court for registering the FIR against the woman after verifying her identify.
