War-drama ‘Paltan’ hits silver screen
Mumbai: JP Dutta’s recent war-drama ‘Paltan’ was released today on the silver screen. Directed and produced by JP Dutta, is an Indian war film which is based on 1967 Nathu La and Cho La clashes along the Sikkim border after 1962 Sino-Indian War.
It stars Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Harshvardhan Rane, Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, Dipika Kakar, Monica Gill.
The film, which reveals the true incidents of unknown heroes of the Indian army from the battle of the 1967 war at the Sikkim border was highly appreciated by the Ministry of Defence in the special screening.
The movie has also got a standing ovation from the Ministry of Defence during a special screening. It is third time when Dutta has been appreciated for making such film on the iconic event in the history of the Indian Armed Forces.
The Defence Ministry also gave a standing ovation to JP Dutta for bringing such iconic event on the screens.
JP Dutta is best known for making patriotic action war films and films in the action genre. His films often have ensemble star casts. Some of the blockbuster movies that he has written, produced and directed are Border, Refugee, LOC Kargil and Umrao Jaan.
He was awarded the ‘National Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration’ from President of India for his super hit film ‘Border’ in 1998.
