VVIP Chopper case: Court allows middleman Michel to meet lawyer-friend

New Delhi: Christian Michel, the middleman arrested in AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal, was allowed by a Delhi court to meet his lawyer-friend on Tuesday.

Special judge Arvind Kumar allowed Italian lawyer-friend of Michel, Santrolli Rosemary Patrizi Dos Anjos, to meet him in Tihar jail as a “general visitor”.

Rosemary has been allowed by the court to meet him for half an hour from Monday to Friday.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had opposed Michel’s plea seeking permission to meet Rosemary who was present in the court on Tuesday.

Michel was extradited from Dubai and arrested by the ED on December 22 last year. He was sent to judicial custody in the ED case on January 5.

The middleman was among the three alleged middlemen being probed in the case by the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The others are Guido Haschke and Carlo Gerosa.
