Faridabad: Unidentified assailants shot dead a Congress leader in Faridabad in Haryana in broad daylight on Thursday, according to reports.
This incident has exposed the law and order situation in the state. He is identified as Congress leader and spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said he was not aware of the incident.
Speaking to reporters in the afternoon Khattar said:“It is not in my knowledge right now.” According to reports, police are investigating into the incident. They said the assailants will be identified soon.
Reports said assailants fired 5-6 rounds of bullets at Chaudhary when he arrived in his car at a gym. The CCTV footage shows the crime taking place. The Congress leader was attacked when he was inside his car.
Chaudhary was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but succumbed to injuries later.
Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar blamed the state BJP government and alleged “jungle raj” in the state.
