Union cabinet reshuffle: Uncertainty over participation of AIADMK, JD (U)
New Delhi: A cloud of uncertainty hangs over the participation of the AIADMK and JD(U) in the Union Cabinet, ahead of much-awaited reshuffle in the Modi cabinet.
As per sources, a senior Janata Dal United (JD (U) leader said that they were yet to be informed about their participation in the government.
Earlier in the day, it has been reported that JD (U) leaders RCP Singh and Ramnath Thakur are likely to be inducted into the Union Cabinet tomorrow (Sep 3).
On the other hand, internal troubles in the Tamil Nadu party, which has been hit by a rebellion led by TTV Dhinakaran, can prove to be a stumbling block in its joining the government as it works to defuse the crisis.
Union ministers — Kalraj Mishra, Bandaru Dattatreya, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sanjiv Kumar Balyan, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahendra Nath Pandey — had resigned on Friday ahead of the rejig.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reshuffle his Cabinet on Sunday at 10 AM, before leaving for China to attend the BRICS Summit.
