Two terrorists gunned down in Kashmir’s Sopore
Srinagar: Two terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in Sopore area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
According to sources, the security forces after getting relevant inputs about the presence of militants in the area, launched a cordon and search operation in Chinkipora near Arampora area of Sopore town in the north Kashmir district.
The gunfight took place between the militants and security force after the terrorist hiding in the area opened fire. In retaliation, the security forces gunned down two terrorists.
Following the incident, all the internet services in the Baramulla district have been suspended. Educational institutions were also asked to remain shut for the day.
In a seperate incident, a jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been injured in Jammu’s Kakriyal. Earlier in the day, gunshots were heard in Jammu’s Kakriyal as security personnel conducted a search operation for terrorists in the area.
On Wednesday, a forest guard officer sustained injuries when the militants attacked the forest department personnel in Jhajjar Kotli area along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway after the cops intercepted the truck, they were travelling in.
