Two teachers suspended in Malkangiri for dereliction of duty


Malkangiri: Two school teachers in Malkangiri district have been suspended for dereliction of duty. The accused duo have been placed under suspension by District Education Officer (DEO) following orders of Malkangiri Collector Manish Agarwal.

The suspended teachers have been identified as Ramesh Chandra Swain and Hara Prasad Basu.

According to reports, the district Collector along with the District Welfare Officer (DWO) paid a visit to the hostel of Taralakota Upper Primary School in Korakonda block two days ago.

However, the officials noticed irregularities in the preparation and distribution of meals to the students in the hostel. Following which, the Collector ordered the suspension of the hostel in-charge Ramesh Chandra Swain.

Similarly, in another visit by the DEO to Matapaka Upper Primary School, anomalies were detected in the attendance sheet of mid-day meal register.

The accused headmaster Hara Prasad Basu, had allegedly put up names of absent students in the register while fewer students were present. Following which, Hara Prasad has been placed under suspension.
