Two peddlers held at Gunupur rly station
Gunupur: Excise sleuths arrested two peddlers and seized 17 kg ganja from them at Gunupur railway station in Rayagada district last night.
The accused persons were identified as Santosh Palka and Narendra Singh of Rajasthan.
According to sources, the excise sleuths after getting relevant inputs about the movement of peddlers, conducted a raid and zeroed in on them at the railway station.
Contraband weighing about 17 kg ganja estimated to be around Rs 80 ,000 was seized from their possession, the police said adding, that the duo accused have been taken into police custody.
A case under relevant Sections of the IPC has been registered against the duo and they will be produced before the court today, a police official said.
