Two held, 2 detained for attack on minister’s car
Keonjhar: Two persons were arrested and two more were detained by Ghasipura police from Belbahali area in Keonjhar on Tuesday for allegedly pelting stones on School and Mass Education (S&ME) minister Badri Narayan Patra’s car.
The two arrested, identified as Uchhaba Sahu and Buddhadev Sahu hail from Belabahali while the two detained, identified as Kalandi Sha and Manoj Barik hail from Talongapura.
Reportedly, the four accused were involved in hurling stones at Patra’s vehicle on Sunday, while the minister was on his way to his village in Keonjhar.
According to sources, Patra’s vehicle was halted for over an hour because of the ongoing procession for the immersion of Ganesh idol. After a long wait, when Patra called up the police for help, some miscreants bombarded his vehicle with stones.
While the rear glass of the car was completely destroyed in the attack, Patra and some other activists had a narrow escape.
