Two Class V students meet watery grave in Rayagada; bodies retrieved

Rayagada: The bodies of two Class V students, who drowned yesterday while taking bath in a pond at Puska village under Seshakhala police limits in Rayagada district, were retrieved today.

The deceased were identified as Panchu Nimaka and Nimai Nimaka of the village.

According to sources, Panchu and Nimai had gone to take bath in the village pond on Thursday evening. The duo slipped into deep water and were unable to swim back due to strong current.

Some locals spotted their dead bodies floating in the water body today morning and informed the family members immediately. Later, the bodies were retrieved with the help of the locals.

According to available information, police seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.
