Los Angeles: The trailer of Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation ‘Aladdin’ was dropped during the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
The trailer, a 60-second video, featured a brief introduction of Will Smith’s blue-toned Genie for the first time.
The live-action remake of Disney’s popular 1992 animated feature stars Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan) as Aladdin, Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) as Jasmine and Will Smith (Men in Black) as the one and only Genie.
Opposite the three leads is Marwan Kenzari (The Mummy) as scheming vizier Jafar while the new characters include Nasim Perdad as Dalia, Jasmine’s loyal handmaiden, and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, one of Jasmine’s suitors.
Earlier, the makers had released the teaser on October 18, 2018, showing the Agrabah landscape and ended with Aladdin reaching for the lamp.
Aladdin is the second of three Disney remakes and will hit the theatres on May 24.
