TRAI ushers in new era for TV viewers
New Delhi: The new regulatory framework for broadcasting and cable services will be effective from February 1, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said on Thursday.
The authorities of TRAI held meetings with its stakeholders such as broadcasters, MSOs, DTH operators, HITS operator from time to time latest being on Thursday, where all the service providers have confirmed their readiness to migrate to a new framework with effect from1st of February 2019.
In a press note, the TRAI has claimed that a large number of subscribers have already exercised options and their choices are recorded with the service providers.
The TRAI has also asked the distribution service providers to continue to make all efforts to obtain consumer choice through various modes including, mobile phone Application, SMS, website and through direct personal contact or through their local cable operators (LCOs).
