Throw out BJD government: Amit Shah to party workers in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: BJP National President Amit Shah today left no stone unturned to exhort the party workers in Odisha to make his ‘Mission 120’ possible one.

He came down heavily on Naveen Patnaik as never before during his earlier visits to the state, even asked the party workers to throw out the BJD government for failing to take up developmental works in the last 17 years of its governance.

Comparing Modi government with a power supply unit and Naveen Patnaik as a burnt transformer he said, “Narendra Bhai (brother) is a powerhouse and Naveen a transformer.  If the transformer could not provide electricity from the grid to people, don’t just replace the transformer, uproot and throw it out.”

“No Minister of Modi government is charged with corruption unlike members of Naveen government. The corrupt will be sent to jail after BJP comes to power in 2019,” Shah said.

He said that in the 17 years rule the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has failed miserably on several fronts and not been able to usher in development in Odisha.

“I am not here to give the account of three-year-old Modi government’s work, rather to take an account of development work in the state in the last 17 years rule of BJD government and the central funds provided to Odisha,” the BJP leader said, accusing the state government of not cooperating with the Modi government to carry out development works in the state.

Shah said Naveen Patnaik is seeing ‘lotus’ in his dream after BJP’s miraculous performance in the last Panchayat polls in the state.

Dramatically, he begged apology for failing to address the gathering in Odia and mocked Naveen Patnaik for failing to speak Odia even after ruling the state since last 17 years and not apologising for it.

Shah was on a three-day visit to the state to strengthen the party’s base and strategise to achieve 120+ seats in the state assembly in the 2019 polls and left Odisha in the evening.
