Three Odisha boys hit tons in CK Nayudu trophy


Bhubaneswar: In the Under-23 Col CK Nayudu trophy match against Goa, Odisha batsman Devendra Kunwar missed a double hundred by just one run on the second day, but his team scored a mammoth 561 for 8 with two more centuries from Shantanu Mishra and Pratik Das before declaring first innings at Gandhi stadium in Bolangir. In reply Goa is stuttering at 68 for 3.

The overnight centurions Devendra and Shantanu continued their assault against Goan bowlers, before Shantanu got out on 160 while the score was at 350. The duo added 229 runs for third wicket. Devendra who was heading towards a double century got out on 199 before adding 118 runs with Pratik Das who was brought back to under-23 team from Ranji team after the junior teams poor performance in age related issues this series.
For Goa VA Naik took 3 wickets while LA garg and Dheraj Y scalped 2 wickets each and Yogesh barde got one wicket.
When Goa started batting the team lost its first wicket before there was any run on the score board. Ishaan Gadekar became the first scalp of Debabrata pradhan who later took clean bowled SR Purohit. While the third wicket fell to a direct hit of Debapriya Pattanayak, opener Prathamesh Gawas is batting on 49.
