Sundargarh/ Deoeogarhgarh: Three motorcyclists were killed in two separate road accidents in the districts of Sundargarh and Deogarh on Wednesday.
In the first mishap, two persons died as the bike, they were riding, rammed into a bridge near Bhalupani village in Sundargarh district.
When informed, police reached the spot and seized the bodies for post-mortem. The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased, said a source.
Sources said the accident occurred due to over-speeding of the motorcycle. However, the actual cause behind the accident is yet to be ascertained.
In another incident, a speeding truck hit a motorcyclist near Debgarh Tehsil Office Square in the district killing him on the spot. Police identified the deceased as Karunakar Sahoo (62), a local.
According to sources, Sahoo was on his way to a market in his scooter when an over speeding truck hit him near Tehsil Office Square. Sahoo died after he came under the wheels of the truck.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and seized the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is under detention for further questioning.
