Three major trains to resume from Puri today
Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (EcoR), which had earlier cancelled several trains from Puri due to the destruction caused by Cyclone Fani, will resume the services of three major trains today.
The three major trains–Purushottam Express, Tapaswini Express and Puri-Durg Express will resume their services from Puri railway station today.
Railways had earlier cancelled 107 trains from May 1 to May 3. Later, 40 more trains were cancelled on different days.
In a related development, the ECoR has changed the originating stations of some trains scheduled for today. Accordingly, the Puri-Howrah Dhauli Express will originate from Khurda Road instead of Puri while the Puri-Tirupati Express will resume from Visakhapatnam.
Similarly, the Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express will start from Bhubaneswar instead of Puri. Besides, the Sri Jagannath Express, Puri-Howrah Express, Puri-Sambalpur Intercity and Puri-Indore Humsafar will be originating from Khurda Road station.
