Three held for stealing cables from telecom company in city

Bhubaneswar: Three persons, who were working as electricians in a telecom company, were arrested from Damana area in Bhubaneswar yesterday on charges of stealing cables.

The accused trio has been identified as Saha Alam (24), Sahid Anwar (20), and Zakir Hussain (24). The three accused youths hail from Kolkata.

According to sources, the trio was working under a contractor at the telecom company. However, a few days after their jobs, the accused trio quit the company after allegedly stealing expensive cable wires.

Following this, the manager of the telecom company lodged an FIR with Chandrasekharpur police.

Acting on the complaint, cops launched a manhunt and nabbed the accused persons from Damana area yesterday while they were selling the stolen materials at a godown in the area.

The accused trio will soon be forwarded to court, the police said.
