Sambalpur: Police on Wednesday arrested three persons for burgling a house at Kusumi village under Mahulapali police limits in Sambalpur district.
The accused persons, identified as Manbodh Kisan, Umesh Kisan, and Jasketan Kisan were arrested on basis of a complaint lodged by the victim, Ajaya Kumar Behera on Monday.
According to police, Ajaya along with his family members had gone to Gudguda to attend Biswasanti Mahajagyan on November 23. On their return, they found that the house has been burgled and cash Rs 2.9 lakh missing.
Following this, Ajaya lodged a complaint with Kusumi police, in this regard.
During the investigation, the three accused persons, who were engaged in the construction of a house adjacent to Ajaya’s house, were found to be prime suspects in the case.
On interrogation, the accused persons confessed to their crime. They were arrested and cash of Rs 2.8 lakh was seized from their possession, the police said.
A case has been registered against the accused trio under relevant Sections of the IPC and forwarded to the court today, the police further said.
