Dantewada: Three civilians and a jawan of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), were killed as Naxals blew up a bus in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday.
According to police, the improvised explosive device (IED) blast took place in a hilly area in Bacheli in Dantewada when the personnel were returning to their camp after purchasing groceries from the market.
Reportedly, the landmine was laid near the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) plant.
The civilians killed in the blast included the bus’ driver, conductor and cleaner, said Dantewada SP Abhisekh Pallav. He also informed that two injured CISF personnel have been shifted to Apollo Hospital in Bacheli.
The personnel belonged to a CISF unit that was deployed in the area for the first phase of the forthcoming polls in the state.
This is the second attack in the last 10 days. The Maoist had attacked a Doordarshan crew in Nilwaya under Aranpur police limits in Bastar district. A DD cameraman from Odisha and two jawans were killed in the Naxal ambush.
