Thirty-km long human chain to remember 80 years of Odisha province, Biju centenary


Bhubaneswar: To remember the 80 years of formation of Odisha province and birth centennial of former CM and nationalist leader Biju Patnaik human chains were formed at various block and district headquarters across the state including here in city.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik flagged off the event from Biju Patnaik Forest Park here. A 30 km long human chain from Dhauli to Nandankanan through State Museum, BMC Office chowk, Mausi maa chowk, Forest park, AG chowk, Raj Bhavan, Jaydev Bihar, Kalinga hospital, KIIT chowk was formed.

The event was divided into 24 parts with a nodal officer for each part and three sectors officers to assist him to conduct the event smoothly. Besides officials of panchayati raj department were also present to coordinate. Drinks, beverages and ambulance facilities were also ensured.

School students, members of SHGs, NCC, scouts and general public took part during the event.
