Suryakiran crash: One pilot dies

Bengaluru: Two Suryakiran aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Yelahanka air base in Bengaluru killing one pilot on Tuesday.

The crash occurred when two aircraft collided head-on during a rehearsal. While two pilots ejected safely, a third pilot suffered fatal injuries.

The aircraft were a part of the aerobatic display team.

“Three pilots were occupants. Two pilots ejected and have been evacuated to the Command Hospital. The third pilot sustained fatal injuries,” an updated tweet said.
