Sumitra Jena appointed Congress women’s wing president


Bhubaneswar: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday appointed Sumitra Jena as the new president of the Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress. Jena will succeed Sasmita Behera who was holding the post earlier.

As per a release by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), former Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai has been appointed as the chairperson of the Scheduled Caste Cell of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) replacing Krushna Chandra Sagaria.

Besides, Sagaria, a sitting MLA from Koraput, has been appointed as general secretary of OPCC.

This apart, senior Congress leader Jagannath Patnaik has been appointed as the member of the OPCC Executive Committee.
