Mumbai: The makers of upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Sui Dhaga’- inspired by the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign- today released the official trailer of the film.
The upcoming comedy-drama ‘Sui Dhaga-Made in India’, is directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It stars Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan in lead roles.
According to reports, the film is based on the ‘Make in India campaign’ launched by the Government of India in 2014. The startup initiative is aimed to promote the country’s indigenous textile industries.
The film tells about a man, Mauji who like his name, lives his life happily despite the difficulty he faces. His wife, Mamta, who plays the role of a shy motivator, asks Mauji to pull up his pants and start working for a living that will earn him respect.
Producer Maneesh Sharma called it as a heartwarming story of pride and self-reliance. He said, “This story finds its roots in the heart of India and reflects the passion that runs through the veins of every single Indian.”
Initially the makers of the film had approached Ranbir Kapoor to play the lead but later Varun was roped in.
The film is scheduled to hit the screens on 28 September this year.
