Bhubaneswar: Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of Indian Red Cross Society-Odisha State Branch has rganised a State level YRC camp for Girl Volunteers from 28th to 30th March, 2017 at Ramadevi University, Bhubaneswar.
As per the organisers, the main objective of the camp is to explore the confidence of the Girl Volunteers and make them guide and mentor and helping them to develop their skills and confidence that will last a lifetime.
During the camp the volunteers will be trained on various topics like History of Red Cross Movement, Fundamental Principles, First Aid, HIV/AIDS, Health & Hygiene, Voluntary Blood Donation, Road Safety and Leadership & Yoga. Various competitions will also be organized during the camp to harness the literary potentiality of the Youth Red Cross volunteers.
Higher Education Minister, Science & Technology, R &D Pradip Kumar Panigrahi inaugurated the 3 days training camp as Chief Guest and expressed that the girl volunteers are the future leaders not only by the qualities and skills one has, but also by how those qualities and skills are used to make a difference in the world. Vice-Chancellor of Ramadevi University Prof. Dr. Padmaja Mishra joined as Guest of Honour.
