Special dengue ward opened at SCB Medical College and Hospital


Cuttack: A special dengue ward has been made operational at the SCB Medical College and Hospital here on Monday in view of dengue scare in the state.

The 150-bed dengue ward has been opened following the recommendation of the state health department and the decision of the hospital authorities. Besides, eight special intensive care units (ICUs) have been opened for dengue patients at the premier hospital.

Dr. CBK Mohanty has been appointed as the nodal officer of the dengue ward while Dr. Sriprasad Mohanty was appointed as the assistant nodal officer. Dr. Bhubanananda Moharana is the coordinator of the special dengue ward.

Moreover, head of the medicine department Dr. PK Padhi has been appointed as the head of the dengue ward, sources said.

On Monday, 12 samples were tested and all were found negative for the disease.
