Seven students injured as school van hits truck in Sambalpur


Sambalpur: A private school van carrying students hit a stationary truck at Ambiranagar in Sambalpur on Wednesday morning leaving seven students injured.

According to sources, the pickup van was carrying students of St. Joseph’s Convent Higher Secondary School at Sakhipara when it rammed into the stationary truck from the rear.

The vehicle overturned after hitting the truck leaving seven students injured. The condition of three of them was stated to be critical.

Upon being informed, police and locals reached the spot and rescued the victims. The injured were admitted to the district headquarters hospital.

The police began a probe into the incident. However, the driver of the pickup van managed to escape after the accident.
