Seven places in Odisha record temperature above 40 degree Celsius

Bhubaneswar: Heatwave conditions prevailed in the state as seven places in Odisha touched the 40 degree Celsius mark yesterday.

Talcher recorded 42.5 degree Celsius, followed by Jharsuguda (41 °C), Titlagarh (41 °C), Sonepur (41 °C), Sambalpur (40.5 °C), Bolangir (40.2 °C) and Angul (40.1 °C).

However, the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar missed the maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius with 39.5 degree Celsius and 39.4 degree Celsius respectively.

Besides this, the Regional Meteorological Centre here had issued heatwave warning for several districts on May 17 and 18.
