Seven including infant injured in series road mishap at Tamando
Bhubaneswar: Seven persons including a 12-day-old infant were severely injured in a series road mishap near Tamando Square in the outskirts of state capital on Friday afternoon.
The injured were identified as Sushanta Bhanjadeo, Ansuprabha Bhanja Deo, Santilata Bhanjadeo, Sanjaya Das and Jyoti Prakash Routray, Subhashri Bardhan.
Sushanta of Gadahaladia is an employee at the CESU office in Khurda. He along with his wife and mother had come to consult a paediatric doctor in a city-based hospital as the newborn baby had some health issues.
The family that came on a hired Indigo car was returning home. A speeding Maruti car that was coming from the opposite direction jumped over the road divider and rolled down before hitting the car carrying the Bhanjadeo family. The Maruti car was being driven by Jyoti Prakash, a student of the CV Raman Engineering College. He was travelling with his female friend Subhashri Bardhan.
All the injured were rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here where they are undergoing treatment till the last reports came. According to the police, Sushanta’s condition is critical who was in the ICU of the AIIMS. However, the infant sustained minor injuries on the head.
