Senior clerk held for amassing disproportionate assets
Cuttack: Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested a senior clerk posted in the office of the executive engineer of Road and Building division here for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The accused was identified as Prasant Kumar Mohapatra.
According to sources, the vigilance officials had conducted simultaneous raids at Mohapatra’s residences in CDA in Cuttack, Dhenkanal, rented houses and relatives’ houses on March 4, 2016 and detected moveable and immovable properties worth Rs 1.6 crore. Mohapatra had failed to give account for Rs 85.69 lakh properties.
A case was registered in this connection at Cuttack vigilance division. On the basis of the case, Mohapatra was arrested.
