Seashore scam : CBI grills Balasore MP Rabindra Jena
Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday grilled Balasore MP Rabindra Jena for a marathon 7 hours for his alleged nexus with Seashore Chit fund company head Prasant Dash.
This is the second time Jena has faced interrogation from the apex investigation agency as he was earlier questioned during January last year.
Talking to media persons after the interrogation Jena said, he supplied all the necessary information to CBI. “I have always cooperated in the investigation,” he said.
“They asked me about the financial transactions with the chit fund firm. I said the seashore group had taken some funds from me. They have repaid me some amount. I have to get the rest of the money,” Jena added.
When asked about the Rs 18 crore loans that he allegedly gave to seashore group Jena said there is no controversy in that issue.
Notably, Jena who earlier headed in various important posts of Supratik group of companies which allegedly availed a loan of about Rs 18 core from seashore group in 2010. He however repaid the amount in 2013. Jena was also the Co-CEO of Balasore Alloys from 2007 to 2009 and later became the MD of the company.
Meanwhile in another case, five directors of Real Tulip chit fund company were produced in the special CBI court here today after they were arrested earlier yesterday from Kolkata. They will be taken on a three day remand for interrogation.
