Search ops in 18 villages of South Kashmir
Srinagar: The police and Reserve Police Force (RPF) launched a cordon and search operation in 18 villages of Phulbama and Sophian districts in South Kashmir on Monday.
The search operation was initiated as intelligence team suspects presence of terrorists in the areas of these two districts.
The forces had launched a cordon in Sophian district on Sunday also after getting relevant inputs about the presence of militants in the area. A search was being carried out in the Laddi Imamsahab village, when the security forces and the militants entered into a gun fight.
However, the militants managed to escape as a clash erupted between the locals and police forces following a brief gunfight with the militants.
