AHMEDABAD: A senior journalist working with a Gujarati newspaper was found dead in his office in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat on Monday night.
The deceased, Kishore Dave, was the bureau chief of Jai Hind based in Junagadh. He was repeatedly stabbed at 9 pm while he was writing a story in his office.
According to a senior police officer, Dave was stabbed six-seven times with knife. It is suspected that personal enmity could be a reason behind the murder.
Sources said he was alone at the office when he was attacked and there were no CCTV cameras installed in the office. Later, an office assistant found him dead.
Although the relatives of Dave did not mention the names of any persons as suspects, they alleged role of a local political in the murder. They said Dave had written a report on alleged sexual harassment case by the son of the politician about a year back. Dave was charged with a case of cyber crime following publication of report. He was however granted bail.
