Scores hurt after canopy collapses at PM’s rally in West Bengal


Midnapore: At least 40 people were injured after a marquee collapsed on a section of the crowd in the middle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in West Bengal.

As a portion of the huge tent started collapsing, the PM stopped his speech and urged people to be safe and ordered his security personnel to take care of those injured.

The Prime Minister’s doctor, Special Protection Group personnel and BJP workers swung into action to carry hurt men and women to hospitals on motorcycles, cars and on an ambulance that follows the PM’s convoy.

PM Modi paid a visit to the injured at hospital and appeared emotional while visiting injured.
