New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear P Chidambaram’s plea against arrest today. The ED will provide incriminating evidence against him, reports said.
The senior Congress leader has moved the apex court after the Delhi High Court denied his request for anticipatory bail.
The top court will also hear an appeal from the former finance minister in which he has challenged the warrant of arrest issued against him in the INX Media case.
P Chidambaram was granted protection from arrest till Monday in the money laundering case by the Supreme Court. The Congress leader is already in the custody of CBI in connection to another case filed by the investigative body.
Earlier on May 15, 2017, the CBI registered an FIR alleging irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearances granted to the INX Media group for receiving overseas funds of Rs 305 crore in 2007 during his tenure as the Finance Minister.
