New Delhi: The apex court asked the Election Commission to take necessary measures for conducting voting at 5 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. for Ramzan month.
The highest court of the land on Thursday has asked the poll body to act on the plea in this regard.
Ramzan is coinciding with the remaining phases of voting in general elections.
The AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday had opined that coinciding of Lok Sabha polls with Ramzan would not hamper poll percentage. He said the claims made by some leaders to the effect is unfounded.
The Election Commission (EC) had earlier said polls will be conducted during Ramzan as an entire month cannot be excluded from the schedule.
